A boutique resort on Ios, built into the mountainside a five minute walk above Chora, looking west over the island’s port and the Aegean.
The sunset is the whole proposition here. The terraces face west over the sea, with the island of Sikinos on the horizon, and the venue says every table has a sunset view.
Alma is now an exclusive wedding and private events venue and no longer opens to the public as a daily sunset bar. The whole property is reserved privately, so a wedding here has the bar, the pool, the terraces and the gardens to itself.
Ceremonies can be held in the venue’s own amphitheatre, with cocktails beside the infinity pool and dinner outdoors under the stars.
The event spaces are an elegant bar, the infinity pool, a large dance floor and several terraces, set in gardens terraced around the natural mountain boulders and planted with pampas grass and bougainvillea.
Accommodation is three self-catering suites of 40 square metres each, hosting up to four guests apiece, every one with a kitchenette, a lounge area, a private veranda and a private sun deck, and exclusive access to the infinity pool by day and in the evening.
Parking is free and there is plenty of it. Mylopotas, Yialos, Kolitsani and Valmas beaches are all a short walk away.
