Christina’s Picks 2026: The Best Greek Wedding Venues

Christina's pick 2026 Greece wedding venue badge

The Best Greek wedding venues for 2026 I’d recommend to a close friend. Independent. Unpaid.
Chosen for their ability to deliver a real wedding, not just a photogenic one.

Three picks per island. Fifteen venues across the five Greek islands I cover most closely.

Balance, not ranking

A best-of list assumes every couple wants the same wedding. They don’t. Each island’s list is deliberately balanced across style, budget, and scale. You’ll find restored historic estates alongside five-star resorts, rustic villages alongside cliffside luxury. No pick is ranked higher than another. Each is the best of its kind, for a specific kind of couple with a specific kind of vision.

Crete

A historic Venetian estate, a contemporary sea-view venue, and a five-star luxury resort. Crete is the island that most rewards couples who want authenticity without compromise, and these are the venues that deliver it across the full budget range.

My historic estate pick: Metohi Istoria – €

Christina's Pick 2026 badge Big Fat Greek Day
our wedding table setting at metohi istoria wedding venue in crete
Our wedding table setting at Metohi Istoria in Chania

Capacity: Up to 120 guests | Style: Historic estate with authentic Greek charm
Why we chose it: Full disclosure, this is where we had our wedding reception and we couldn’t have chosen better. “This Greek historical site, now serving as an avocado and orange farm, captured our hearts with its 15th-century Venetian history, lush gardens, and rustic Greek charm. Such unique surroundings and sensational Greek gastronomy gave us the most magical memories.” To me, it’s one of the most charming and historic wedding venues in western Crete.

What makes it special:

  • 700-year-old Venetian estate with authentic stone architecture
  • Working organic farm with avocado and orange groves
  • Adaptable canvas with many areas including an old olive mill (for indoor cover if needed), dining seating among fruit trees, a large dance floor, and more
  • Intimate setting perfect for 50-120 guests
  • Historical significance dating back to the 15th century

My luxury resort pick: Amirandes – €€€

Christina's Pick 2026 badge Big Fat Greek Day

Why I recommend it: For couples wanting the ultimate in luxury and service without sacrificing Greek authenticity. This Grecotel resort masterfully blends modern luxury with Cretan heritage, offering couples a stress-free celebration where every detail is handled by world-class professionals.

What makes it special:

  • Five-star Grecotel resort with award-winning service and facilities
  • Stunning beachfront location with private access to pristine sands
  • Multiple ceremony and reception options from intimate beach settings to grand ballrooms
  • Full-service wedding planning team experienced with international celebrations
  • Luxury accommodations for your wedding party all in one location
  • Minoan-inspired architecture and design celebrating Crete’s ancient heritage

My modern elegance pick: Sea View by Enkipo – €€

Christina's Pick 2026 badge Big Fat Greek Day
crete wedding sea view

Capacity: Up to 150 guests | Style: Contemporary venue with panoramic sea views
Why I recommend it: The perfect middle ground between rustic charm and resort luxury. Enkipo offers couples stunning Aegean Sea views with modern amenities and flexibility, ideal for those who want a sophisticated celebration without the formality of a five-star resort.

What makes it special:

  • Breathtaking panoramic views of the Aegean Sea and Chania coastline
  • Professional event coordination with attention to detail
  • Flexible layout options accommodating different ceremony and reception styles
  • Located near Chania for easy guest access to restaurants and accommodations
  • Contemporary Greek design that feels fresh yet timeless

Santorini

A historic windmill, a cliffside winery, and a sophisticated caldera venue. Santorini is the island couples most often imagine first and the one that most often humbles unprepared venues. These three deliver what the photos promise, across the full budget range.

My historic windmill pick: El Viento – €

Christina's Pick 2026 badge Big Fat Greek Day
el viento windmills overlooking santorini perfect elopement destination venue

Capacity: Up to 100 guests | Starting Price: €565 | Distance from Airport: 9km

This restored 200-year-old windmill perched on the caldera cliffs is one of Santorini’s most unique ceremony settings. If you want authentic Cycladic character without breaking the budget, El Viento delivers.

What makes it special:

  • Historic windmill architecture with genuine 200-year heritage
  • Cliffside terrace with panoramic caldera and sunset views
  • Perfect for intimate ceremonies with distinct character
  • On-site villa available for wedding prep or honeymoon stay
  • Peaceful atmosphere away from Oia crowds yet close to Pyrgos and Fira
  • Licensed for both legal marriage ceremonies and symbolic celebrations
  • Multiple ceremony spaces including outdoor terraces and indoor options

Why couples choose it: Photographers consistently describe El Viento as “a venue like no other” with “the most amazing views” that create extraordinary photo opportunities. Starting at €565, this represents exceptional value for a truly unique Santorini setting. The combination of authentic windmill architecture and spectacular caldera views creates something memorable without requiring a luxury budget.

Budget reality: At €565 for venue rental, you can create a complete intimate elopement for 20-30 guests under €8,000-€10,000 including catering, photography, and basic florals.

My winery pick: Venetsanos Winery – €€

Christina's Pick 2026 badge Big Fat Greek Day
Venetsanos winery Santorini wedding and elopement venue

Capacity: Up to 120 guests | Starting Price: €2,500 | Distance from Airport: 9km

Built into Santorini’s volcanic cliffside in Megalochori, Venetsanos offers multi-level terraces with unobstructed Aegean views. This is Santorini’s oldest industrial winery, and that heritage adds genuine depth to your celebration.

What makes it special:

  • Multi-level terraces including a 250m Upper Terrace ideal for ceremonies
  • Historic architecture seamlessly integrated into the volcanic landscape
  • Open-air layout with unobstructed caldera views from every angle
  • Wine-tasting experiences naturally incorporated into your celebration
  • Total exclusivity on terraces for intimate to mid-size weddings
  • Rustic-meets-modern aesthetic perfect for couples wanting character
  • Full bar service and recommended catering partners

Why couples choose it: Wine lovers praise the “beautiful views and lovely wine experiences” that create sophisticated atmospheres. The winery setting offers something genuinely different from typical hotel venues while maintaining professional service standards. Starting at €2,500, you get substantial value for a venue with this much character and capacity.

Budget reality: €2,500 venue fee + catering at €75-€90/person means a 60-guest celebration runs approximately €7,000-€8,000 for venue and food, before adding photography, florals, and planning services.

Christina’s insight: The combination of excellent wine, breathtaking location, and authentic Santorini character makes celebrations feel both sophisticated and genuinely Greek. When wine and views come together on this scale, you create memories that feel special without feeling forced.

My sophisticated elegance pick: Le Ciel – €€

Christina's Pick 2026 badge Big Fat Greek Day
a beautiful aegean sea view from a santorini wedding venue

Capacity: Up to 120 guests | Starting Price: €1,000 | Distance from Airport: 16km

Perched on Imerovigli’s caldera rim with sweeping sea and volcano panoramas, Le Ciel blends dramatic views with refined, accessible design. This is where couples find sophisticated elegance without sacrificing practicality.

What makes it special:

  • Elevated position in Imerovigli with spectacular caldera and volcano views
  • Ceremony terrace with stylish gazebo and setup against sunset backdrop
  • Indoor glass-fronted reception hall opening to raised terrace for dancing
  • Full wheelchair access and inclusive amenities
  • Music allowed until midnight for couples wanting extended celebrations
  • Accommodates both intimate gatherings (30 guests) and larger receptions (120)
  • Professional on-site planning team with proven coordination

Why couples choose it: Guests consistently mention staff “going above and beyond throughout the entire planning process” with patience, kindness, and professional coordination. The caldera views deliver those breathtaking sunset ceremonies while food quality receives genuine enthusiasm. The combination of spectacular setting with attentive service creates celebrations where couples focus on enjoying rather than worrying.

Budget reality: Starting at €1,000 for the venue, but total costs scale with guest count and service choices. A 50-guest celebration including venue, catering, and coordination typically runs €8,000-€12,000 before photography and florals.

Planning consideration: Located in Imerovigli, known as the “balcony of Santorini,” Le Ciel offers spectacular views with 50-70% fewer tourists than Oia. This location advantage means better photo opportunities without competing with day-trippers.

Corfu

A restored traditional village, an 18th-century Venetian estate, and a cliffside luxury resort. Corfu is the island where you get Mediterranean beauty without Santorini pricing, and these three venues represent the full spectrum of what makes Corfu work.

My traditional village pick: Danilia Village – €

Christina's Pick 2026 badge Big Fat Greek Day

The Concept: Authentic Greek village settings that give you that “Big Fat Greek Wedding” atmosphere without DIY complications.

danilia village wedding venue in corfu greece as a wedding couple walks the cobble stones

Capacity: Up to 200 guests | Starting Price: €1,380 | Distance from Airport: 10km

This is genuinely one of the most unique wedding venues in Greece. Danilia Village lets you take over an entire faithfully restored 1930s Corfiot village. Cobbled streets, chapel, town square, taverna, banquet hall, the works. It’s been a filming location for James Bond and My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3, which tells you everything about its cinematic charm.

What makes it special:

  • Full exclusivity: The entire village is yours for the day – no other guests, no distractions
  • Multiple celebration spaces: Chapel for ceremony, town square for cocktails, banquet hall for reception
  • Old-world charm: Colorful buildings, vine-covered balconies, lantern-lit courtyards
  • Grecotel management: You get authentic traditional setting with professional hospitality group service
  • Convenient location: Just 10km from airport, easy for international guests

When traditional villages work: When you want utterly unique, photogenic settings with cultural authenticity but don’t want to coordinate permits, power, and infrastructure yourself. Danilia Village is managed by Grecotel, so you get the cinematic traditional backdrop with professional event management.

Budget reality: Starting at €1,380, this is one of the most accessible unique venue options in Corfu. Add catering at €60-€90/person and you have a complete traditional Greek celebration under €10,000-€12,000 for 50 guests.

My luxury resort pick: Angsana Corfu – €€€

Christina's Pick 2026 badge Big Fat Greek Day

The Concept: Everything handled, bundled packages, professional service, zero logistical stress.

Angsana corfu resort and spa a wedding trellace setup with an aegean sea view in the background

Capacity: Up to 250 guests | Starting Price: €1,400 | Distance from Airport: 11km

For couples who want resort-level polish at genuine scale, Angsana Corfu delivers international-brand hospitality on one of Corfu’s most dramatic cliffsides. Set on a peninsula above the Ionian on Corfu’s eastern coast, the Banyan Tree Group property offers multiple ceremony and reception spaces, five-star service, and the flexibility to host anything from an intimate 30-guest celebration to a full 250-person multi-day event.

What makes it special:

  • Cliffside peninsula setting: Sea-facing terraces, Emerald Beach, and the Infinity Pool Deck create genuinely elevated ceremony spaces above the Ionian
  • Multiple distinct venue spaces: Amalia Hall for grand indoor receptions, Oribu Garden for intimate cocktails, the Pool Deck for open-sky vows
  • Vertigo Sky Bar: Purpose-built rooftop venue for sunset toasts and late-night celebrations
  • Luxurious on-site accommodation and award-winning spa: Your wedding party stays in one location with wellness facilities between events
  • Banyan Tree Group operations: International hospitality brand experienced with destination weddings at real scale
  • Flexible capacity: Works from intimate 30-guest celebrations through to 250-person multi-space events

When resorts make sense: If you’re planning from abroad, have limited time to coordinate vendors, or want guaranteed service standards. Resort packages can actually save money compared to piecing together independent vendors – everything’s bundled with one point of contact.

When they don’t: If you have specific vendors you love (that photographer whose work you’ve followed for years), resorts often won’t let you bring them in. You’re also paying for the resort brand.

Budget reality: Venue hire starts at €1,400 with reception menus at €85 per person. Peak season bookings come with a 15% Food & Beverage discount, and shoulder season (October) often waives venue hire entirely for 50+ guests with a 20% F&B discount. For a 100-guest October wedding, that’s roughly €6,800 on venue and base catering. The same celebration in July runs closer to €8,625. One of the few Corfu venues where choosing October over July delivers a meaningful budget shift.

Here’s more on Angsana Corfu on my venue listing page.

My private estate pick: The Courti Estate – €€€

Christina's Pick 2026 badge Big Fat Greek Day

The Concept: Your wedding, your way. Complete vendor freedom, multi-day celebrations, exclusive use of stunning historic properties.

a side aerial view of the courti estate in corfu greece with the mediterranean sea in the background

Capacity: Up to 500 guests | Starting Price: €12,000 | Distance from Airport: 17km | Sleeps: 18 guests

When you want complete privacy, customization freedom, and that grand estate experience, The Courti Estate delivers. This family-run 18th-century Venetian hilltop manor set within 10 acres of olive groves offers the perfect blend of historic elegance and personal warmth.

What makes it special:

  • Historic 18th-century Venetian architecture with authentic character and both sea and mountain views
  • On-site Byzantine chapel for intimate ceremonies
  • Expansive olive groves and manicured gardens with multiple outdoor celebration spaces
  • Infinity pool and chic indoor-outdoor flow for dancing under the Corfu sky
  • Nine ensuite suites for your closest family and friends to stay on-property
  • Family-run with personalized service and thoughtful Greek hospitality
  • Zero corkage fee – this is huge for alcohol savings (more on this strategy later!)

The estate trap I see couples fall into: That €12,000 rental looks fantastic until you realize you need to rent generators (around €600), luxury portable toilets (around €450), professional lighting, and possibly tables/chairs/linens. Factor in damage deposits too. Suddenly that “affordable” estate is €2,000-€4,000 more than you budgeted – the research shows these infrastructure costs add 20-25% to the base villa fee.

When estates win: Multi-day celebrations where you want that intimate gathering with welcome dinners and day-after brunches. When you’ve found incredible independent vendors you want to work with. And critically – when you can leverage that zero-corkage policy. Buying wine and beer from local distributors instead of paying resort bar packages can save 50-70% on your alcohol bill (potentially €1,600-€2,800 for 80 guests).

Budget reality: €12,000 base rental + €2,000-€4,000 infrastructure + catering at €75-€120/person. For 80 guests, total venue/catering/bar costs run €20,000-€28,000 depending on menu choices.

Mykonos

Traditional Cycladic cottages, a private hillside villa, and an ultra-luxury Relais & Châteaux property. Mykonos is the island most often picked for the wrong reasons, the party reputation, the Instagram moment, and least often chosen for what it actually delivers well. These three get it right at three different price points.

My ultra-luxury pick: Kalesma Mykonos – €€€€

Christina's Pick 2026 badge Big Fat Greek Day
pere ubu restaurant at kalesma mykonos setup for a wedding dinner

Capacity: Up to 150 guests | Style: Relais & Châteaux five-star resort with 27 suites and private villas

Why I recommend it: For couples who want the ceiling of what Mykonos can offer. Kalesma is Mykonos’s most decorated luxury property, set on a hillside in Aleomandra with direct views over Ornos Bay. The architecture is contemporary Cycladic done at the highest level, and the resort handles high-net-worth weddings as a matter of routine rather than novelty. If your reference points are W Mykonos or Santa Marina but you want something more design-led and genuinely exclusive, this is where you land.

What makes it special:

  • Relais & Châteaux property with consistent international recognition
  • 27 suites and villas so your full inner circle can stay on-site
  • Multiple ceremony and reception spaces, from intimate terraces to larger pool-side setups
  • Panoramic views across Ornos Bay and the Aegean
  • In-house catering led by a Michelin-caliber culinary team
  • Dedicated wedding team experienced with ultra-high-budget international celebrations
  • Premium Aleomandra location, a short drive from Chora and the airport

Here’s more on Kalesma Mykonos on my directory listing page.

My hillside villa pick: Villa Almi – €€

Christina's Pick 2026 badge Big Fat Greek Day
Villa Almi wedding venue in Greece

Capacity: Up to 120 guests | Style: Exclusive-use private villa with hillside views

Why I recommend it: For couples who want private villa privacy without the eye-watering end of Mykonos villa pricing. Villa Almi offers exclusive-use rental with flexibility on external catering, so you can bring in a planner and vendors you actually want to work with rather than being locked into a resort’s preferred list.

What makes it special:

  • Exclusive-use private villa with complete privacy for your party
  • Hillside setting above Tourlos with sweeping views
  • Flexible catering, either in-house or bring your own vendors
  • Up to 120 guests for ceremony and reception
  • Two-night minimum stay, which turns the wedding into a full weekend
  • Close to Chora for easy guest access to restaurants and nightlife

Here’s more on Villa Almi on my directory listing.

My traditional Cycladic pick: Aletro Cottage Houses – €

Christina's Pick 2026 badge Big Fat Greek Day
destination wedding mykonos venue

Capacity: Up to 120 guests | Style: Traditional stone cottages near Chora with authentic Cycladic character

Why I recommend it: For couples who want the Mykonos experience without the Mykonos price tag. Aletro is the most accessible venue on my Mykonos directory, and the traditional stone compound near Chora feels more old-Greece than new-Mykonos. Walking distance to town means guests don’t need shuttles for pre- or post-wedding events.

What makes it special:

  • Traditional stone cottages with authentic Cycladic architecture
  • Walking distance to Chora, which is rare on Mykonos
  • Up to 120 guests for ceremony and reception
  • Flexible catering with external vendors permitted
  • Most budget-accessible venue on my Mykonos directory
  • Two-night minimum stay, turning the wedding into a weekend

Here’s more on Aletro Cottage Houses on my directory listing.

Rhodes

Three properties I would personally recommend if you were sitting across from me asking where to get married in Rhodes. Two are in Lindos, the village every Rhodes wedding article eventually circles back to, and one is a private villa near Rhodes Town for couples who want the whole crew under one roof.

My intimate Lindos pick:
Melenos Lindos Art Boutique Hotel – €€€

Christina's Pick 2026 badge Big Fat Greek Day
A view over the Aegean sea from Melenos Art Boutique Hotel setup for a wedding in rhodes

Capacity: Up to 50 seated for dinner, 75 across rooftop spaces | Style: 12-suite boutique hotel carved into the rock beneath the Lindos Acropolis

Why I recommend it: If you want a Lindos wedding that feels held rather than performed, this is the property. Twelve suites, hand-crafted detail in every corner, and a setting where the Acropolis does most of the emotional work for you. It suits couples who care more about atmosphere than scale, and who would rather have forty of their closest people staying together for a long weekend than two hundred guests at a generic resort.

What makes it special:

  • Three ceremony settings, all with sea views: the rooftop Blue Balcony (around 25 guests), the garden (up to 45), and the Top Restaurant (up to 75)
  • Reception dining on-site for up to around 50 guests, with the rooftop going exclusive for larger parties
  • Whole-hotel buyout available with a three-night minimum recommended for full exclusivity
  • In-house wedding planner handles legalities for civil, symbolic, and Greek Orthodox ceremonies
  • Two minutes on foot to Lindos beaches and the Acropolis path
  • Hand-crafted decor, named staff who guests remember, and consistent five-star service across more than a thousand reviews

Worth knowing before you fall in love: The hotel has historically not booked weddings in August or September, so confirm your dates directly with the venue. Smaller weddings allow only acoustic instruments (guitar, bouzouki); a DJ or live band requires the full property buyout. There is also a fair amount of stair access, worth flagging if any of your guests have mobility needs.

Explore the full venue listing on the Melenos Lindos page here.

My beachfront Lindos pick:
Lindos Mare Seaside Hotel – €€

Christina's Pick 2026 badge Big Fat Greek Day
A view of the pool and the aegean sea at the Lindos Mare, Seaside Hotel in Rhodes

Capacity: 10 to 45 guests | Style: Five-star seaside hotel built into the hillside above Vlicha Bay

Why I recommend it: For couples who want their wedding inside a fully operational five-star resort, with a Blue Flag beach below and three on-site restaurants for the rest of the week. What sets Lindos Mare apart is the regulars. Read the reviews and you find guests on their fifth, eighth, even fifteenth return visit. That kind of loyalty translates into a wedding team that knows what it is doing because they do it often.

What makes it special:

  • Three ceremony spots, each different in feel: the hotel’s own sea-view gardens, the private Blue Flag beach at Vlicha Bay, or the chapel and beach at St Paul’s Bay nearby
  • Receptions at the Cocktail Veranda for 10 to 45 guests as an exclusive private party, with no separate venue hire fee or decoration charge
  • Four set wedding packages or a fully custom build, all coordinated in-house
  • Direct beach access via lifts and a cable car, three on-site restaurants, full spa, and a discount on accommodation when booked alongside the wedding
  • Particularly suited to mixed-age groups and families given the kids’ pool, playground, and broader resort amenities

Worth knowing before you book: Civil ceremonies are formalized at the Town Hall, with non-EU citizens facing a five-day Greek residency requirement before the wedding date (more on the legal piece below). The hotel is built into a cliff face with significant level changes; lifts and the cable car help, but flag mobility needs directly. Rhodes Airport is around an hour’s drive away.

For more detail and direct contact, see the Lindos Mare listing on the venue directory.

My villa pick: Bello Blu Luxury Villa – €€

Christina's Pick 2026 badge Big Fat Greek Day
a long wooden table set at a rhodes greek wedding venue

Capacity: Up to 130 guests for the event, sleeps 17 | Style: Private clifftop estate near Rhodes Town with seven ensuite bedrooms

Why I recommend it: Bello Blu is the answer to a specific kind of Rhodes wedding question, the one where you want your closest people staying together for a few days rather than scattered across hotels. It transforms the celebration into something more like an extended house party, with everyone gathered around the same pool by lunchtime, the same dinner table by night.

What makes it special:

  • Seven ensuite bedrooms sleeping up to 17, with the wider event capacity reaching 130 guests
  • Licensed for marriage on the property, with in-house catering, licensed bar, and on-site planning
  • Clifftop setting with sea views, just 1 km from the beach and 14 km from Rhodes International Airport
  • Communal areas built for celebration: BBQ deck, bar, games room, large pool, multiple lounge spaces
  • Family-run feel with 24/7 concierge and private chef options to tailor your menu
  • Starting from €2,000, which is meaningful value for a luxury private estate at this scale

Worth knowing before you book: The €2,000 starting figure is a base rate; how it scales for your specific dates, guest count, and accommodation needs is worth confirming directly. Villa weddings give you flexibility but they also put more on you to coordinate, which is where a strong day-of planner earns their fee.
